Raising up healthy churches

Missioteca’s church partnership initiative--Arise--has an important role throughout all of Missioteca’s work. Every week Arise is spending time with pastors from our Proclama initiative, observing, evaluating, and vetting them for a potential long-term partnership. Arise also participates in AguaGuate’s work by caring for the spiritual nourishment and growth of our drilling team, volunteers, and the community.

Principles for Partnership

Arise seeks to forge healthy church partnerships within the Global Church

Servant-minded

Be willing to do whatever the field workers or mission leaders deem helpful is the right place to begin.

Elder-led

Church eldership has a vital role to play in mission mobilization in the local church. They are to lead their church into mission through preaching, praying, and going.

Relationship-based

Priority is given to relationships over projects.

Commitment-centered

Your church should be willing to seriously commit to the workers in the field. This commitment demonstrates faithfulness to the King’s commission and encourages perseverance for those in the field.

Congregation-wide

Mission is a core part of the ministry of the church, not one among many optional ministries on the periphery. When church members understand the focus and direction of the church’s partnership, then the ground is laid for a fruitful partnership.

Long-term focused

Most fruitful and humble partnerships are long-term focused. Being long-term focused also means doing short-term trips that support the work of existing long-term mission teams and national churches.
